In a bold step to revitalize agriculture and stimulate economic growth, the Benue State government has signed its first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement with Rexodeneh Group Limited to develop the Benue Food City Complex in Otukpo Local Government Area.
The historic agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security’s conference hall in Makurdi.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Professor Moses Ogbaji, hailed the partnership as a transformative move poised to boost food production, create jobs, and help curb insecurity. He urged Rexodeneh Group to honor the terms of the agreement and deliver on its promises.
The Director-General of the Benue Investment Promotion Agency (BENIPA), Terhemen Kpenkaan, described the agreement as a product of a meticulous and collaborative process.
He noted that it represents the first PPP concession under Governor Alia’s tenure and a strategic move to harness Benue’s vast agricultural potential especially in Zone C.
Rexodeneh Group’s Managing Director, Mr. Femi Akpata, expressed gratitude to the Benue State Government, calling the opportunity “divinely inspired.” He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to positioning Benue as a continental leader in agriculture and food production.
The project, as noticed by WorldClass247News, received strong endorsements from key stakeholders, including Kennedy Angbo, member representing Otukpo/Akpa Constituency, who pledged the full support of the host community. He described the Food City as a game-changer for employment, food security, and public safety.
