Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, has declared a total crackdown on insecurity across the state, following the deployment of additional security personnel to troubled communities in Kwande and other affected local government areas.
The governor made the declaration on Monday while receiving a briefing on the reinforcement of security forces sent to restore calm in the violence-hit communities.
Governor Alia commended security agencies for what he described as their tireless efforts in stabilizing the affected areas, noting that the latest deployment marks the beginning of a decisive campaign to end insecurity in the state.
In a statement issued by his Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, the governor stressed that individuals responsible for attacks and disturbances must be apprehended and prosecuted, adding that his administration will not relent until peace is fully restored across Benue.
The governor warned that bandits and criminal elements attempting to destabilize the state would be pursued and brought to justice, emphasizing that the government remains determined to safeguard residents, their farms, and their communities.
“Our administration will not be deterred by those who seek to terrorize our people,” Alia said, assuring residents that his government is working tirelessly to ensure their safety and security.
He reiterated his commitment to restoring stability, promising that every available measure would be taken to protect lives and property.
“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: Governor Alia will not be intimidated. I will not be deterred. I will crush insecurity in Benue State,” he declared.
