Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on Monday inaugurated the newly elected Executive Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, charging them to strengthen the party’s base and work towards securing greater victories in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Government House in Yola, Professor Farauta called for reconciliation and collaboration between the outgoing and incoming party leadership to foster unity and progress within the PDP.
“The party must close ranks, work in synergy, and carry everyone along—especially women, youths, and other stakeholders—to consolidate on the gains already made in the state,” she said.
The Deputy Governor expressed optimism that the new executive committee would sustain the PDP’s influence, particularly at the grassroots level, emphasizing inclusiveness and party cohesion.
Earlier in his remarks, outgoing PDP Chairman, Barrister Abubakar Tahir Shehu, thanked party members for their unwavering support during his tenure and urged them to extend the same to the new leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Hamza Madagali, who emerged unopposed, described his election as a collective victory for the party and for democracy.
“We will build on the trust of our supporters and remain committed to advancing the party’s ideals across the state,” said Madagali, a former chairman of Madagali Local Government and erstwhile organising secretary of the PDP.
