The Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on its candidates to conduct issue-based campaigns and avoid criticizing one another as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
The appeal was made yesterday in.Yola, during a high-level strategic engagement session with the party’s candidates, where certificates of return were also presented to successful flagbearers.
The meeting brought together PDP candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly, alongside local government party chairmen and secretaries.
It was also observed to have served as a platform to strengthen collaboration between the party leadership and its candidates while establishing a unified operational framework for the forthcoming elections.
Speaking, the party’s Organizing Secretary, Said Bako, described the successful conduct of the party’s pre-primary and primary elections as a significant milestone. He emphasized that all party structures remain the backbone of electoral victory and urged candidates to work closely with party officials at every level.
Bako also disclosed that the party’s national leadership would soon harmonize its manifesto, stressing that the PDP’s campaign for the 2027 elections would be focused on issues rather than personal attacks.
“The party at the national level will soon harmonize its manifesto, and the campaign is going to be issues-based,” he said.
Also speaking, the Adamawa state PDP Chairman, Mr. Stephen Heluwa, reiterated the importance of synergy between candidates and party leadership in mobilizing voters ahead of the 2027 general elections. He urged all stakeholders to remain united and committed to strengthening the party’s internal structures as the campaign season approaches.
Several party officials and candidates also contributed to discussions, raising key issues aimed at improving internal cohesion and ensuring effective grassroots mobilization.
In a symbolic demonstration of unity, all the party’s candidates pledged loyalty, discipline, and commitment to the PDP. They promised to respect party structures and work harmoniously with fellow candidates and party leaders in the interest of the party’s success.
