Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has rewarded a frontline health worker, Dr. Ishaku Dickson, with a fully furnished three-bedroom house in recognition of his dedication and selfless service to the people of Monguno and Borno State.
The presentation was made on Monday night during the governor’s visit to Monguno. Earlier in the day, Governor Zulum had inaugurated the newly renovated officers’ lounge and cafeteria at the headquarters of Sector 3, Operation Hadin Kai.
In addition to the housing reward, the governor approved the immediate employment of Dr. Dickson’s wife into the Borno State Civil Service. He described the gesture as part of a deliberate effort to appreciate sacrifice, professionalism and commitment to public service.
Governor Zulum commended Dr. Dickson for his steadfast service despite the challenges of working in a conflict-affected area, noting that such dedication reflects the values the state seeks to promote.
He stressed that rewarding excellence is critical to motivating healthcare workers and strengthening service delivery, particularly in hard-to-reach and high-risk communities.
The governor reaffirmed that the Borno State Government places high value on integrity, dedication and compassion, especially among frontline healthcare workers.
Governor Zulum has consistently recognised and rewarded committed public servants, particularly those serving in resettled and vulnerable communities, as part of efforts to boost morale and encourage sustained service delivery across the state.
