The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has announced a week-long planned power outage that will affect several communities across Adamawa and Taraba States.
The outage will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 and continue until 5.00 m.m on Monday.,8,2025.
According to YEDC, the interruption is necessary to allow MBH Power Contractor to complete rehabilitation and reinforcement work at the 330/132KV and 132/33KB transmission station in Mayo-Belwa area of Adamawa.
The Nigerian Independent System, also Operator (NISO) confirmed that the project includes the connection of a turn-in-turn-out 330kV line, a development expected to improve the stability and reliability of the regional electricity network.
During the maintenance period, electricity supply from both the Mayo-Belwa and Jalingotransmission stations, according to the statement, will be unavailable.
Areas expected to experience a total blackout, as reeled out by the organization, include Jalingo,, the capital of Taraba state, Zing, Mutum-Biyu, Lau, Mayo-Belwa, Jeda, Ganya, and Tongo.
YEDC has urged affected customers to make necessary arrangements ahead of the outage and thanked them for their patience and cooperation.
The company also encouraged residents to remain vigilant around power installations and to report any suspicious activity to help ensure a smooth restoration of supply once work is completed.
