Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect, retaining only select members of his cabinet.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Sunday evening by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro.
According to the directive, all affected Commissioners and Special Advisers are to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their contributions to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
The dissolution, however, exempts the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as the Commissioners for Health and Human Services; Agriculture and Food Security; Education; Works; and Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives. The Special Advisers on Special Education and Social Inclusion, and on Lands, Survey and e-GIS are also unaffected.
Additionally, all Directors General who are members of the State Executive Council will retain their positions, including the heads of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, the SDGs and Project Monitoring office, and the Bureau of Public Procurement.
