President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent deadly attacks on communities in Plateau State, pledging that the perpetrators will be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.
Gunmen struck several communities—including Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai in Bokkos Local Government Area, as well as Manguna and Dafo villages—leaving many dead and causing widespread destruction of property.
In a statement released by the State House, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the attacks, describing them as “unacceptable” and “mindless violence” against defenceless citizens.
“The report of another violent attack in Plateau State saddens me,” the President said. “These intermittent attacks should have no place in our country. I have directed security agencies to hunt down the attackers. They will face severe punishment.”
The President extended his condolences to the bereaved families and to the government and people of Plateau State. He urged affected communities to work with security agencies by providing vital information that could help in capturing the culprits.
Tinubu also assured Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the federal government’s support in efforts to restore peace and security to the region.
To aid victims and support recovery efforts, Tinubu directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with state authorities in providing immediate relief and long-term assistance to the affected communities.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and all those affected by this senseless violence,” the President said. “We must all unite—regardless of ethnicity, religion, or politics—to foster peace and stability across our nation.”
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ending violence and protecting every Nigerian, vowing that the forces behind such attacks will be rooted out.
