Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has reinstated the suspended Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie, following his exoneration by an investigative panel.
In a statement released to the press, the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, confirmed that the decision was made after the panel found no evidence of financial infractions against Osagie.
The panel was set up to investigate allegations of corruption that had led to his initial suspension.
Governor Okpebholo, in line with his administration’s commitment to transparency, has directed Osagie to resume his duties immediately.
Osagie was suspended alongside the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission over alleged misconduct related to corruption. However, with the latest findings, the governor has cleared him to return to office.
