The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the Shilla cult group for their alleg6 involvement in multiple armed robbery incidents in Yola, the state capital.
The arrests, made on January 19, was said followed a swift response to a citizen’s report of a robbery along Yola Road.
The suspects, identified as Hamza Ibrahim, 19, of Behind Shopping Complex, Jimeta-Yola North local government council and Abdulkarim Suleiman, 20, of Sengere Samunaka, Yola South local government, were intercepted by police operatives at Malamre Junction.
According to the police, the duo had earlier robbed Uba Ibrahim of his iPhone XR at the Jippu Jam toll gate and Bello Babangida of his iPhone 7 along the Jimeta-Yola road.
Both stolen phones, a tricycle used in committing the crimes, and a sharp knife were confirmed to have been recovered during the arrest.
The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, praised the prompt action of the police operatives and highlighted the importance of public cooperation in combating crime.
He assured the public that the suspects would be diligently prosecuted and urged citizens to continue supporting the police for effective service delivery.
