The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has debunked a viral social media claim that Ali Isah, member representing Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State in the House of Representatives, secured 50 recruitment slots for his constituents.

The Corps, in a statement issued by its Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, said no appointment letter had been issued to any candidate in the ongoing 2026 recruitment exercise.

It described the publication as misleading, warning that it could create a false impression about the integrity of the recruitment process.

The FRSC clarified that candidates who successfully passed the various stages of screening and interviews had only been invited to designated training schools and the FRSC Academy for further stages of the exercise.

According to the Corps, the invitation to training does not amount to appointment, as candidates are still required to successfully complete prescribed training, screening, regimentation and other mandatory processes.

It said only candidates who satisfactorily complete all the required stages and have no disqualifying record would be considered for appointment in accordance with established procedures.

The Corps said under the leadership of Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, it remained committed to a recruitment process based on merit, transparency, due process and institutional integrity.

It stressed that no individual, political office holder, group or external interest had the authority to confer appointments into the Corps outside the established recruitment framework.

The FRSC urged applicants and members of the public to disregard the viral publication and avoid creating, sharing or amplifying unverified claims that recruitment slots had been allocated to individuals, constituencies or political interests.

It warned that such claims could mislead unsuspecting applicants and expose them to fraudulent activities by individuals seeking to exploit the false impression created by the reports.

The Corps further advised applicants to rely solely on official FRSC communications for information concerning the recruitment exercise and to be cautious of messages or offers suggesting that appointments could be secured through political influence, payment or personal connections.

The FRSC reiterated that the 2026 recruitment exercise remained subject to the statutory and administrative processes prescribed by the Corps.

It added that no candidate should consider himself or herself an appointee until the recruitment process had been concluded and a formal appointment communicated by the appropriate authority.
