The Federal Government has dismissed recent allegations of imbalance in federal appointments, reaffirming its commitment to fairness, equity, and national unity in the selection process.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), authorities addressed growing concerns and social media discourse suggesting lopsidedness in government appointments.
The OSGF emphasized that all appointments adhere strictly to the federal character principle, as outlined in Section 14 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
The statement highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong belief in a united Nigeria and his administration’s dedication to ensuring broad representation across all regions and demographics.
The OSGF reassured Nigerians that the current administration is guided by justice and equity in all decisions related to public office appointments.
The government urged the public to disregard what it described as “unfounded speculations” and to rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information.
It also warned against those spreading divisive rhetoric, calling on citizens not to lend credence to allegations intended to sow discord.
“The Government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a prosperous, united, and equitable Nigeria, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of this Administration,” the statement concluded.
