The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as “Portable,” wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties.
According to a statement from the police, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m. in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. Officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were conducting an enforcement exercise when they encountered an elderly man at Odogwu Bar. The man, later identified as Portable’s father, informed them that his son was not present.
However, shortly afterward, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons. He was reportedly accompanied by a gang of nine men who launched a violent assault on the unarmed government officials.
The victims sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the attack to the Ota Area Command, which then escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
Police have since arrested nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices, but the singer himself has evaded capture. Authorities say he has ignored multiple invitations to appear at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta. In response to his continued defiance, a valid court order has been issued for his arrest.
The police have urged the public to provide any information that could lead to Portable’s immediate apprehension. They also warned that anyone found assisting or harboring the fugitive will face legal consequences.
For relevant information, citizens are encouraged to contact the nearest police station or reach out to the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels.
