A Matero Local Court Magistrate, jn Lusaka, Zmbia, Lewis Mumba has advised that married individuals should be home no later than 21:30 hours.
The magistrate made the statement while presiding over a reconciliation case involving a married couple from Lusaka’s Six Miles area
Chuma Tembo, 32, had taken her husband, Díckson Tembo, 40, to court seeking reconciliation, citing emotional distress.
She accused her husband of repeatedly locking her out of their home when she returned from selling fritters around 20:00 hours.
She also claimed that he often accused her family of witchcraft, blaming them for the deaths of several relatives.
In response, Díckson defended his actions, arguing that Chuma neglected their children and failed to prepare meals for them.
During the proceedings, Magistrate Mumba emphasized the importance of married individuals being home at a reasonable time, stating that 21:30 should be the latest for couples to be home to maintain harmony in their marriages.
