The Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, has dismantled suspected bandit hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.

The operation, conducted at about 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, was aimed at restricting the movement of bandits and restoring security in communities affected by criminal activities.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the operation followed credible intelligence provided by members of the affected communities.

The security operatives raided suspected bandit enclaves around Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending towards the boundary with Kano State.

During the operation, two structures suspected to have been used by bandits as hideouts for holding abducted victims were dismantled at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.

The Command said joint security patrols were still ongoing in the area, adding that normalcy had been restored and the general area remained calm.

The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, commended the communities for their cooperation and the security personnel for their gallantry during the operation.

He reaffirmed the Command’s determination to sustain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.

The police also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities.
