The Adamawa State Government has approved the implementation of a new salary structure for teaching and non-teaching staff of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi.
The approval was granted by the state Governor and Visitor to the university, Dr. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as part of efforts to improve staff welfare and working conditions at the institution.
According to a statement signed by the Information and Protocol Officer of ADSU, D.D. Kwabe, on Friday, the new salary structure, signed by the Federal Government this year, is expected to significantly improve the remuneration and welfare of university staff.
The development, the statement said, underscored the Fintiri administration’s commitment to strengthening the education sector, motivating university personnel and creating an enabling environment for effective teaching, research, learning and administration.
Reacting to the approval, the Vice-Chancellor of ADSU, Prof. Augustine Clement, expressed appreciation to Governor Fintiri on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate and the entire university community.
Clement described the approval as a significant demonstration of the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the university workforce and the advancement of higher education in the state.
He said the implementation of the new salary structure would boost staff morale, enhance productivity and strengthen the university’s capacity to effectively deliver on its mandate.
The Vice-Chancellor also assured the governor of the continued dedication, loyalty and commitment of the university community to excellence in teaching, research, learning and community service.
The university management expressed appreciation to the governor for what it described as a timely and commendable intervention, while praying for continued wisdom, strength, good health and success for his administration.
