The Adamawa State Government has restated its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and enhancing health outcomes for residents across the state.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta reaffirmed the commitment while receiving officials of the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) during a courtesy visit to her office at Government House, Yola.

Farauta said the administration remains determined to ensure that every child in the state has access to life-saving vaccines, stressing that immunisation is the right of every child.

She noted that the government would continue to intensify vaccination campaigns and other strategic interventions aimed at eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases.

“Government will ensure that every child is vaccinated in order to eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases in the state,” she said.

The deputy governor further expressed the readiness of the state government to collaborate with organisations working to improve the welfare of citizens, particularly in the healthcare sector.

“Adamawa State Government is ready to partner with organisations, especially those reaching out to its citizens,” she added.

Earlier, the Team Leader of CHAN, Dr Suleiman Mshelia, described the association as the umbrella body for Christian and missionary hospitals across Nigeria.

He said the organisation advocates for missionary hospitals, strengthens their operational capacity, and ensures compliance with government healthcare standards and protocols.

Mshelia explained that the association was in Adamawa State to recommission the Numan warehouse, originally established in 1989 but later abandoned due to organisational challenges.

He disclosed that the warehouse would now serve as a major distribution hub for missionary hospitals across the region, adding that distribution activities had already commenced.

According to him, CHAN also collaborates with relevant government agencies to ensure smooth healthcare operations across the country.

Mshelia commended the administration of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for achievements recorded in infrastructure and healthcare development, while appealing for financial support to further strengthen missionary hospital services in the state.
