The Commander of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has commended the officers and soldiers of 114 Battalion (Rear), Jimilari, for their professionalism, resilience, and loyalty in carrying out their constitutional duties.
Brigadier General Uwa made the remarks on Friday while hosting the troops to a New Year luncheon at the Battalion headquarters in Jimilari, Lau Local Government Area, in recognition of their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to duty.
Addressing the personnel, the Brigade Commander highlighted their collective efforts in enhancing peace, security, and the protection of lives and property within the Brigade’s area of responsibility.
He acknowledged the personal sacrifices of soldiers, including extended deployments and long periods away from their families, describing them as the backbone of the Nigerian Army.
He assured the troops of the command’s continued focus on their welfare, morale, and operational effectiveness, while urging them to remain disciplined, loyal, and professional in the New Year and to uphold the core values of the Army.
Expressing optimism about the Brigade’s future achievements, Brigadier General Uwa emphasized that greater operational successes could be attained through teamwork, vigilance, and renewed dedication to service. In a demonstration of his “Soldiers First” leadership philosophy, he personally served the troops during the luncheon.
