Former Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, has called on former Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Austin Agada, to submit to Governor Hyacinth Alia’s leadership to resolve the ongoing crisis within the party.
Jang emphasized that no governor would tolerate internal party insubordination, recalling his own experience in office.
“No governor will accept that. I did not accept it when I was governor. Alia is being kind,” he said.
He assured that Agada’s submission to the governor would not compromise his loyalty to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, but stressed that disregarding the state’s chief executive was unacceptable.
Jang also pointed out that key figures in Governor Alia’s administration, including the Chief of Staff and the Attorney General, had previously held significant positions within the party, demonstrating the APC’s strong representation in government.
“I don’t know exactly what happened, but I learned that the Chief of Staff to the governor is a former party secretary, while the Attorney General was the party’s legal adviser before his appointment.
These people are a good recognition of the party; they represent the APC in Alia’s government,” he explained.
The former governor concluded by urging Agada to take steps toward resolving the crisis, allowing Governor Alia to focus on governance.
“Agada can end the crisis if he wants. They should allow Governor Alia to work,” Jang stated.
