He also highlighted the state’s increasing strides in sports development, recalling the outstanding performance of Taraba athletes during the last edition of the festival held in Asaba.
“This year, we are prepared to present an even stronger contingent,” Kefas said, adding that the state remains committed to fostering unity and empowering its youth through sporting initiatives.
Describing the festival as a vital platform for peacebuilding, national integration, and talent discovery, the governor emphasized that sports have the power to bridge ethnic and regional divides.
Also speaking at the event, Taraba State Director of Sports, George Shitta, expressed confidence in the state’s athletes and praised their dedication. He reiterated the government’s full backing for the team’s success at the national level.
