Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two young men for allegedly stealing a generator battery from the premises of the LCCN Cathedral in Jimeta.
The suspects, identified as Dad Yusuf, 20, and Gibson Husseini, 17, both residents of Upper Luggere in Yola North Local Government Area, were apprehended by officers from the State Intelligence Department on June 28.
Police spokesperson Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said the pair confessed to stealing a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from the church on June 23, around 11:00 p.m.
Investigations, according to the command, are ongoing to trace other possible accomplices and recover more stolen items.
Tha command also announced that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.
