Governor Mai Mala Buni, of Yobe state , has tasked the State Projects Monitoring Committee with intensifying efforts to ensure the timely and quality execution of all state projects.
The governor issued the directive via a statement made available to media men in Damaturu, the state capital, by his Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed.
In the state. Governor Buni stressed the importance of adhering to high standards in all ongoing and future projects across the state.
“This is to ensure that all projects comply with contractual specifications, stand the test of time, and are beneficial to our people,” he said.
The governor instructed site engineers to strictly monitor compliance with project specifications and to report any cases of sub-standard work immediately.
“We must ensure value for every naira spent on projects executed by the state government. This aligns with our administration’s policy of transparency and accountability,” Buni stated.
He also warned that the government would not tolerate delays or poor-quality work, emphasizing the mutual responsibility between the government and contractors to uphold their contractual agreements.
“Government will fulfill its responsibilities, and we expect contractors to honor their commitments. Non-compliance will not be tolerated,” the governor declared.
The directive underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring that infrastructure projects serve the best interests of the people of Yobe State.
