The Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF) has reassured beneficiaries, partners and donors of the safety and continuity of its programmes following a security incident reported in parts of Sokoto State on December 25, 2025.
In a statement released to journalists on Tuesday in Taraba State, the foundation said it had not received any reports indicating that its programme sites in Sokoto State were affected by the reported airstrikes.
The statement, signed by the Chairman of WACHEF’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Garba Danjuma, confirmed that no staff members, their families, or programme beneficiaries were harmed as a result of the incident.
It added that WACHEF’s Clubfoot programme, currently implemented in Sokoto, Katsina and Taraba states with support from MiracleFeet, remains unaffected.
While acknowledging that the incident may cause fear, uncertainty and temporary disruptions, WACHEF said it is working closely with donors, partners and community stakeholders to ensure the safe and effective continuation of all its operations.
The foundation emphasized that the safety and well-being of children, their families and staff remain its top priority. It noted that it is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with local authorities, community leaders and partner organizations, including MiracleFeet, and is taking necessary measures to secure its clinics and programme sites.
Despite the challenges, WACHEF reaffirmed its commitment to improving the health and well-being of women and children and to delivering quality, compassionate care across its programmes.
The foundation also pledged to maintain transparent and timely communication, assuring stakeholders that any developments affecting its operations or service delivery would be promptly communicated.
