The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement released by its Executive Chairman, Disu Kamor, the organization congratulated the Muslim Ummah for fulfilling their religious obligations during Ramadan, including fasting, prayers, and charitable acts. It also prayed for the acceptance of these acts of worship.
MPAC emphasized that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time of celebration but also a moment for deep reflection. The group urged Muslims to uphold the values of righteousness, compassion, and justice learned during Ramadan, in line with Qur’anic teachings on piety and self-discipline.
However, the organization raised serious concerns about the worsening security situation in Nigeria. According to the statement, many Muslims observed the fasting period under the shadow of violence, fear, and uncertainty due to persistent attacks by insurgents, bandits, and kidnappers.
Describing the situation as a “national emergency,” MPAC condemned the ongoing killings, abductions, and displacement of innocent citizens. It noted that the continued insecurity reflects a failure to adequately safeguard vulnerable populations.
The group called on the Nigerian government to take urgent and decisive measures to restore peace and security across the country, insisting that concrete action—not rhetoric—is needed to protect lives and ensure justice for victims.
On the international front, MPAC highlighted the plight of Muslims in conflict zones, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It described the humanitarian conditions in these areas as dire, citing ongoing violence, destruction, and loss of life.
The organization also condemned recent hostilities involving the United States and Israel against Iran, warning that such developments could heighten global tensions and undermine international peace and stability.
MPAC urged Muslims worldwide not to remain passive in the face of injustice but to actively support efforts that promote human dignity, justice, and the protection of the oppressed.
The organization further expressed gratitude to individuals and groups who supported its activities during Ramadan through Zakat and Sadaqah, noting that such contributions enhance its mission of fostering peace, justice, and community development.
While offering prayers for lasting peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria, the organization encouraged Muslims to sustain the spiritual discipline and moral values cultivated during Ramadan.
