The Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Ali Isa JC, has called on Nigerian politicians to always fulfill their campaign promises and remain accountable to the people who elected them.
According to a statement by his media aide, Mr. Ahaziah Abubakar Suleiman, the lawmaker made the call during the flag-off of the reconstruction of Nyuwar and Jessu roads in Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State. He noted that the road project was part of his campaign promises aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
Ali Isa JC reaffirmed his commitment to completing all constituency projects and fulfilling his promises before the expiration of the 10th Assembly.
He listed some of his achievements to include: construction of classroom blocks, provision of solar-powered water projects and streetlights, establishment of healthcare facilities with an ambulance for Nyuwar/Jessu ward, and employment opportunities for many youths in the area.
While commending the people of Gombe State for their peaceful conduct, the Minority Whip condemned the alleged unruly behavior of some APC supporters during the recent North East Zonal Meeting in Gombe. He called on the ruling party to tender a public apology to the peace-loving citizens of the state.
Also speaking at the event, the Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, Alhaji Magaji Mijinyawa Madakin Pindiga, praised Ali Isa JC for his exemplary leadership and described him as one of the main pillars of the party in the state. He said if more elected officials worked with the same commitment, Nigeria’s development would be more advanced.
Alhaji Magaji urged party members to remain peaceful and focused ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing the need for PDP to reclaim all elective positions in the state, including the governorship.
Former Deputy Governor Mr. Thaanda Jason Rubainu also applauded the lawmaker’s efforts and called on Gombe State to support the rotation of governorship to Gombe South in 2027.
Meanwhile, the contractor handling the project, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin Garba, promised to deliver a quality job within thirty days.
