Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta state.

The operation, conducted on June 4, followed credible intelligence reports aimed at disrupting criminal activities and enhancing security in the state.

According to military authorities, the recovered weapons and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community. The recovery is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to rid the area of criminal elements and prevent the proliferation of illegal arms.

Commander of the 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their resilience, vigilance, and professionalism during the operation.

He urged the personnel to sustain the current operational momentum and continue applying pressure on criminal elements operating within the brigade’s area of responsibility.

Shonibare reiterated the formation’s commitment to denying criminals freedom of action, warning that individuals or groups found harbouring illegal arms or engaging in criminal activities would face the full weight of the law.

The military said it remains determined to maintain peace and security across Delta State through intelligence-driven operations and sustained collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

The recovery comes amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb criminal activities and strengthen public safety in the South-South region.
