The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Adamawa State has dismissed a viral social media report alleging that its operatives seized a Police Hilux vehicle.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdulrahman H. Tukur, the FRSC described the allegation as “false, baseless, and entirely misleading.”
The Command clarified that no Police vehicle—Hilux or otherwise—was seized, impounded or detained by its personnel at any time. It added that the FRSC maintains a strong and cooperative relationship with the Nigeria Police Force in the state, noting that both agencies continue to work closely to promote public safety and national security.
The Corps suggested that the viral claim may have been a deliberate attempt to create misunderstanding and undermine the synergy among security agencies in Adamawa.
The FRSC urged the public to ignore the misinformation and avoid spreading unverified reports capable of causing unnecessary tension.
The statement reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to road safety administration, traffic management and public enlightenment, stressing that its operations are guided by professionalism and respect for inter-agency collaboration.
