The Nigeria Police Force has strongly condemned the actions of officers seen in a viral video receiving money from a Chinese national, describing their behavior as unprofessional and unethical.
According to a statement issued by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the conduct of the officers is contrary to the core values and standards expected of personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
The officers involved have been identified and are currently undergoing disciplinary procedures.
“The Force has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct or unethical behavior that undermines public trust and confidence,” the statement read.
The Police also used the opportunity to caution individuals and organizations who engage the services of police personnel—especially for escort or security duties—against actions that could compromise the integrity of officers or bring the Force into disrepute.
The statement reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining professional standards and upholding the rule of law in all its operations.
