Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured the people of Plateau State of the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to peace, stability, and economic development.

Speaking in Jos on Saturday during a condolence visit to Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, the National Chairman of the Council of Ulama, Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Shettima conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s message of solidarity following the death of Sheikh Saidu Hassan Jingir.

“President Tinubu specifically directed me to express his heartfelt condolences and to reaffirm the administration’s dedication to Plateau’s peace and prosperity,” Shettima stated. “This state is vital to our national unity and development agenda.”

The Vice President commended the Plateau State Government’s peace-building efforts, emphasizing the importance of sustained stability for progress. “Without peace, there can be no meaningful development,” he noted.

While praying for the late Sheikh Saidu Hassan Jingir, who was the Deputy National Chairman of JIBWIS, Shettima also underscored the administration’s broader economic goals. “We are implementing reforms for long-term national prosperity. Early indicators are positive, and we ask for continued patience and support,” he said.

Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir expressed deep gratitude to the Federal Government for its compassion and leadership. “This visit reflects a governance approach that prioritizes humanity. We appreciate President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima’s commitment,” he said.

The cleric also praised the administration’s swift response to infrastructure concerns, citing the recent N33 billion approval for the Jos-Saminaka-Kaduna road. He further lauded the government’s economic policies, noting a gradual reduction in food prices due to agricultural initiatives.

On security, Sheikh Jingir affirmed that Plateau had embraced peace, highlighting the diverse turnout at Sheikh Saidu Hassan Jingir’s funeral as a testament to interfaith harmony. “This unity is the Plateau we want to sustain and build upon,” he said.
