The Commander of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has commended troops for their dedication and bravery in the ongoing military operation, Operation Lafiyan Jamaa.

The large-scale offensive, launched across all 16 Local Government Areas of Taraba State, is aimed at dismantling bandit networks infiltrating the state from neighboring regions, according to a statement released by Brigade spokesperson Captain Oni Olubodunde.

The operation, as emphazied by the Brigade, seeks to restore peace and security, ensuring that residents can safely go about their daily activities, including farming, without fear.

During a visit to Andami in Karim Lamido Local Government Area following a successful clearance mission, General Uwa praised troops for their efforts in targeting multiple bandit hideouts.

He announced that the operation had led to the discovery and destruction of abandoned camps in Komodoro, Ginarunbu, Chibi, Chikum, Bitriklin, Mashigi Kirya, Jamaga, and Wagal villages—significantly disrupting criminal activities in the region.

“The successes recorded so far are a testament to your dedication and professionalism,” General Uwa stated, urging troops to sustain their momentum against banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal threats.

“However, we must not relent. We must remain vigilant, decisive, and proactive in ensuring that Taraba State remains unsafe for criminals,” the Commander emphazied.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to restoring lasting peace and stability in Taraba and beyond. Authorities also called on the public to support security efforts by providing credible intelligence that could aid ongoing operations.
