The Gombe State Police Command has dismissed reports of an alleged attack on the ECWA Church in Kashere, Akko Local Government Area, describing the claims as entirely false.
According to the police, officers from the Pindiga Division and the Kashere Police Outstation immediately contacted one of the church elders, who was present during the second segment of the Hausa service.
The elder confirmed that no attack took place and that police personnel had been stationed at the church throughout the day as part of routine security arrangements.
In a statement signed Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, rhe Command warned that spreading false information is irresponsible and could cause unnecessary panic among the public.
Authorities, according to the release, have promised to investigate the source of the misinformation and take appropriate action.
Members of the public are urged to remain calm and law-abiding, as the Gombe State Police Command continues to prioritize the safety and security of all residents.
