Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has firmly denied reports suggesting he and four other governors are planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued issued out to media men by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor described the rumours as “ridiculously malicious” and the product of “uninteresting political comedians.”

Reacting to social media speculation linking him to a coalition allegedly spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Idris reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the ruling party. “I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” he declared.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a political prostitute. I will be the last person to leave my formidable and reliable party for any coalition, no matter who the architects are,” Idris said.

The governor emphasized his dedication to serving the people of Kebbi State and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He stressed that his focus remains on delivering good governance and building on the achievements of the APC.

“If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing,” he asserted.

The governor further reiterated that Kebbi remains a stronghold of the APC, dismissing rumours of defection as the “dance of mad fellows in the marketplace.”

He assured citizens of his steadfast commitment to the development of Kebbi State and the welfare of its people under the APC banner.
