Osun State is set to become a major hub for digital content creation following a N25 million investment by Smart City, a business entity, to establish a state-of-the-art Content Creation Studio in Dagbolu.
The studio, housed at the SDG Skills Acquisition Centre, will serve as a platform for emerging and professional digital creators, providing cutting-edge facilities to enhance content production and digital storytelling.
Speaking after a two-day creative seminar, Osun State’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, emphasized the government’s commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and cultural preservation.
“The Osun SDG Conference has successfully underscored the state’s commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and cultural preservation. With initiatives like the Content Creation Studio, Osun continues to position itself as a hub for creative excellence and economic empowerment,” Alimi stated.
He also commended event partners, including Jumbo Food and Smart City, for their support in expanding the creative sector.
The seminar concluded with a cultural and creative tour, allowing participants to explore Osun State’s rich heritage and thriving creative economy.
The tour began at Afin-Ilu Palace, where attendees delved into the history and significance of the royal drummer in Yoruba culture, highlighting the role of music and oral traditions in preserving heritage.
The initiative not only showcased Osun’s vibrant creative landscape but also reinforced the importance of sustainability, innovation, and economic empowerment in shaping the future of the state’s creative sector.
