The Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro will on Saturday, January 24, 2026, commission a community healthcare project valued at over N100 million at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos.
The project, which focuses on the renovation and equipping of wards C1 and C2, is the club’s flagship intervention for the 2025–2026 Rotary year. It is being spearheaded by the club’s United President, Rotarian Engr. Alexander Chukwu.
The intervention includes the replacement of old windows with durable aluminium frames and the repainting of the hospital’s exterior to enhance safety, comfort and aesthetics. In addition, the club donated essential medical and support equipment, including wheelchairs and crutches, to improve patient care.
To support hospital operations, the Rotary Club also provided water tanks, a tank stand and a water treatment facility to ensure a reliable supply of clean water for patients and healthcare workers.
Speaking on the project, Chukwu said the initiative was aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure and creating a more conducive environment for both patients and medical personnel. He noted that the investment reflects the club’s commitment to sustainable, high-impact support for public health institutions.
The commissioning ceremony is expected to attract medical personnel, community leaders and Rotary members, underscoring the organisation’s focus on community-driven healthcare solutions and partnerships.
The project marks a major milestone in the Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro’s 2025–2026 service year and reinforces its dedication to sustainable development and improved healthcare delivery across Lagos State.
