The Katsina State Police Command, said it has recorded significant successes in crime-fighting, with 144 suspects arrested and 105 kidnapped victims rescued in February 2025.
Speaking at a press conference, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who represented the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, provided an overview of the command’s achievements in combating crime across the state.
During the review period, the police arrested 144 suspects linked to 128 reported major crimes, including armed robbery, homicide, kidnapping, and rape.
Among those arrested were, 16 suspects for fire culpable homicide, 7 suspects for armed robbery, 1 suspect for allegedly providing information to bandits, 49 suspects for rape, and 47 others for various offenses.
Additionally, security operatives, according to the comand, neutralized four armed bandits and recovered several exhibits, 13 rustled animals, 4 locally made guns, 13 pump action cartridges,and 5 motorcycles.
